Getting chicos ready for sale

Here we are weighing out 1/2 pound packages of our chicos.  By the time of this posting, all the Native Yellow and Hopi White corn chicos are sold, except the ones we are keeping for ourselves.  We still have some “Peaches and Cream” chicos available for $8.00 per 0.5 pounds.  We found that people who really like chicos prefer the native corn varieties over the commercial hybrid corn we purchased.  We also found that the hybrid corn was much more difficult to “desgranar,” or the process of taking the kernels off the cob.  With these lessons in mind, we decided to expand our native corn cultivation and make more chicos from our own corn in the future…
